Here's a little pic of one of my all-time favorite paintings for your Thursday viewing pleasure. I like it because it's square, & because it's huge (it's in the Met's permanent collection & you can go there just about any day of the week & stand in front of it & stare & stare & stare forever & not get bored--trust me, I've done it) & Joan of Arc is almost life-size, you feel like at any moment she's going to stop zoning out & notice you & be like, "Oh hey, I didn't see you there," & there are angels hidden in it, which is cool. And isn't her face just beautiful?
