This weekend was magical. Four of my best pals from high school rode trains, planes, & automobiles (aka buses) up to Massachusetts, braving public transportation, frigid temperatures, & the distinct possibility of long-weekend hangovers just to visit little old me. Here's what we did, in order from most to least:
-sat in a big pile on my couch
-watched a marathon of Kourtney & Kim Take New York
-ate Funfetti cake (see above)
-dissected what Kim could have possibly seen in Kris H., given his boneheaded homophobia & resemblance to Frankenstein
-ate Hint of Lime Tostitos
-talked about farting
-drove around
-drank coffee
-painted each other's nails
-snoozed
I know it sounds boring, but it was exactly what I hoped for. Now my room feels big & empty without all the air mattresses & boots & scarves strewn around.
One day we will live close by & be able to drop by unannounced for things like a cup of tea, or a walk around the block, or a new episode of The Kardashians. One day we'll take vacations together, not just to see each other. One day.
