I finally watched Somewhere the other night, after making a batch of chocolate chip cookies (probably the last before the summer heat really clamps down). The movie was lovely--quiet & melancholy the way most of Sofia Coppola's movies are.
My favorite parts are when Cleo cooks for her dad. She has such single-minded concentration; even though she's alone, it ends up being a really tender moment.
In other movie news, last night I saw the new Pirates of the Caribbean. The mermaids ruled. It was everything I hoped it would be.
Tonight I have to mind a child, but tomorrow I'm going swimming! Good day, chaps.
